Carter-Lambert Divisions is actively seeking Splunk Enterprise Security (SIEM) Administrators to join our Department of Veteran Affairs team in support of the Office Information Security (OIS) Cybersecurity Operations Center (CSOC)


Work locations available including - Hines, IL & Martinsburg, WV

Job Duties

•        Administer Splunk Enterprise Security (ES) application

        Implement and tune security use cases with the Splunk ES application

        Capture use case requirements to include use case logic and log data needed to meet requirements

        Research, analyze and understand log sources utilized for the purpose of security monitoring

        Configure and maintain Splunk ES user roles

        Monitor and maintain data CIM compliance

        Monitor search load, manage and update search scheduling

        Create, manage, monitor, and update correlation searches, data models, data model acceleration, search accelerations

        Create ad-hoc notable events

        Create, manage, and update lookup configuration

        Monitor, manage, and update all aspects of the Incident Review Panel

        Create, manage, and update Threat Intelligence, Asset, and Identify feeds

        Monitor and manage knowledge object ownership

        Request Active Directory security groups for new roles

        Write advanced searches, dashboards, and visualizations in Splunk Enterprise

        Experience writing and tuning queries in MS-SQL

        Experience writing scripts in Python

        Experience with RedHat Enterprise Linux

        Assist with drafting, updating, and modernizing SOPs and guidelines as needed

        Potential travel limited to about 5%, if needed

 

Qualifications


Required Education and Experience:

        Bachelor's degree in technology-related field - equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree

        Extensive SIEM platform experience, specifically with the Splunk Enterprise Security application

        Strong understanding of TCP/IP and other networking protocols

        Extensive knowledge of common networking devices such as firewalls, routers, and switches

        Time management for developing solutions, attending meetings, gathering requirements, and explaining/demonstrating ideas and solutions

        Able to effectively communicate and demonstrate ideas and applications to customers over various media including shared desktop, telephone, or video teleconferencing

        Experience creating both technical design and user guide style application documentation

        General office automation experience

        Remedy ticketing system experience

        ServiceNow ticketing experience
